Audio description

Audio description is film for the visually impaired. Also known as an audio film, audiodescription provides an audio description for visually impaired people during pauses in the dialogue of an audiovisual content.

An audio description is produced in three stages: The script with the text of the description must be created, then the text must be translated into sound (phonetize). The last step is the integration of the spoken text into the film.

The office for the rights of persons with disabilities of the canton of Basel-Stadt has asked people with disabilities to talk about their everyday difficulties in a video. The aim: making the video accessible for everyone. SWISS TXT has been assigned to this task.
