Thanks to SWISS TXT and the association Blind Power, football matches on SRF will have live audio descriptive commentary for the first time

This is a significant moment for Swiss broadcasting as for the very first time, football is to be made accessible to all – including our visually impaired viewers.

Live commentary will describe what's happening on the pitch, the shirts, the players, and any other relevant details.

Our audio description commentators are equipped with laptops and microphones and can describe the action from the comfort of their own homes. This remote solution offers great flexibility. In theory, the descriptive commentary could be carried out from the Maldives – as long as the internet connection is stable enough.

"SRF is realising this offer in association with the SRG company SWISS TXT and the association Blind Power. For now it is available on live broadcasts of Super League and Swiss men's national team games. The relevant matches are designated in the TV listings on srf.ch with the letters 'AD'.
