SWISS TXT is sponsoring
Avatar kids

SWISS TXT is supporting the Avatar Kids project, featuring Nao the humanoid robot, for two years. A world first, Avatar Kids is a pilot project which allows children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 to remain connected with their friends and family during a long stay in hospital. It also provides significant support for the rehabilitation of long-term patients.

The robot Nao is used as an avatar in the healthcare, rehabilitation and special education sectors. Avatar Kids uses Nao primarily for communication between young patients and their loved ones at home. Its video chat function gives long-term patients an emotional connection to their friends and families, or to their school. Nao can make gestures on behalf of the child, for example, express their feelings through touch, and even dance.

Long-term hospitalisation is an emotionally challenging situation for children and young people. They suffer greatly from being separated from their families, friends and their normal daily lives. This can impact significantly on their recovery process. As an avatar robot, Nao closes this gap and puts young long-term patients back in touch with those important to them.

As an innovative multimedia company, SWISS TXT is supporting the Avatar Kids project for two years. Ever since its foundation in 1983, SWISS TXT has been tracking new technologies and the ground-breaking ways in which they are used. Today, SWISS TXT offers the widest range of solutions for video communication and management. These are all attributes that fit perfectly with the Avatar Kids project. We are delighted to be sharing part of this very special story with Avatarion for the next two years.
