Bern University of Applied Sciences is supplementing its existing LMS (Moodle) with a SWISS TXT video delivery platform. Videos make it possible to use new forms of teaching and communication.

Intro

  • Digitalization is advancing at breakneck pace in the world of education.
  • Multimedia content is already available on the web. Bern University of Applied Sciences intends to – indeed has to – confront these media challenges too.

Background

  • Bern University of Applied Sciences already uses Moodle as a learning management system (LMS), and wants to supplement it with a video platform.
  • The intention is for video to play an important role in the education process at Bern University of Applied Sciences.

Goals and requirements

  • Integrate Kaltura into the existing LMS (Moodle).
  • Operate video hosting as an SaaS solution.
  • Bern University of Applied Sciences does not want to operate its own video-hosting infrastructure.
  • Instead, it wants to host its videos in ISO-certified data centres in Switzerland.
